Who We Are

Waypoint has been supporting and empowering NH citizens since 1850. We have expanded our mission since we began as a child welfare agency, but have remained steadfast in our commitment to helping Granite Staters find paths to brighter futures. Our compassionate, dedicated staff collaborates with the State of New Hampshire and other nonprofits to serve people of all ages.

Our name, tagline, and logo represent our mission and values.

A waypoint is a point along a journey at which you change course. We chose the word for our name because it captures exactly what we do. Our programs guide those who need help negotiating life’s challenges in a new direction. Our tagline, “help along the way” communicates our commitment to be a lifeline across people’s lifespans. Just as we rely on clear signs to guide us on unfamiliar roads, Waypoint is a beacon to help people find their way. The compass in our logo is a visual reflection of the important way-finding role that we play to help others navigate to a better future.

Tradition and distinction

We have been providing essential human services since 1850. While our services have evolved over the years to adapt to changing community needs, our long-standing commitment to empowering those who need help has never wavered. Waypoint is a founding member of the Child Welfare League of America, and we hold the distinction as NH delegate to the Children’s Home Society of America. To date, we are the only organization of our kind in New Hampshire to be accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), which means that we adhere to the highest standards of practice.
