A Lifeline Across Lifespans

Empowering people of all ages through an array of human services and advocacy since 1850.

About

Waypoint has been improving NH lives since 1850. As the oldest human service/children’s charitable organization in NH, we have constantly evolved with the changing times to better support people as they change course in their own lives. In 2018, we changed our name from Child and Family Services to Waypoint to signify our commitment to be a safe resting point during a life journey. Today, we are proud to serve as a lifeline across the lifespan – from providing prenatal services to support for seniors.

Get Involved

There are many ways to support our life changing work, from participating in events such as our annual SleepOut to increase awareness of youth homelessness, to joining our community as a valued donor.

Advocacy

Our advocacy team works at the legislative level to shape laws and public policies to advance the well-being of children and families. Since 1971, we have worked in alongside with other advocates across the state, including teachers, lawyers, doctors, social service professionals and others, as a collective now known as the NH Children’s Lobby. Always at the forefront of social service and social justice, Waypoint’s advocacy team continues to guard children’s rights and serve the evolving needs of each new generation.

Activities

Waypoint offers a wide range of free activities and groups to create community, share knowledge, develop tools and skills, have fun, and empower individuals of all ages. From caregiver and parenting support, to family events and playgroups, these activities strengthen family bonds and the connections we have with one another.

Waypoint Launches a First-in-the-Nation Program to Prevent Youth Homelessness

Sometimes all it takes is an unaffordable car repair or a high heating bill to start a spiral that results in homelessness. Our goal is to identify youth and families at risk and provide support to help them navigate these challenges and stay housed.

Waypoint Early Childhood Care and Education Work

Waypoint is thrilled to be the recipient of a three-year grant from the Couch Family Foundation to support work within a coalition to advance early childhood education and care practice (ECE) in New Hampshire.
