Waypoint’s 2025 Year in Review: Momentum in Action

Momentum is the word that best describes Waypoint as we reflect on 2025 and our 175-year legacy. Through our programs, children are thriving, young adults are gaining stability, and older adults are maintaining independence at home. Every program, partnership, and dedicated staff member contributes to turning individual successes into lasting impact.

Advocacy

This year, Waypoint strengthened systems that support families by building connections across sectors. In the Child Care Scholarship Program Workgroup, we brought together state partners, early childhood educators, and community voices to tackle barriers to childcare access. Homeless Youth & Young Adult Services

In 2025, Waypoint focused on prevention, early intervention, and creating safe pathways to independence for young people. One area of momentum was supporting youth transitioning out of foster care through strategic partnerships with Dover Children’s Home and The Chase Home. By combining our expertise with partner organizations, we help ensure youth leaving foster care have the tools they need as they approach adulthood, preventing homelessness before it starts.

Our perspective is shaped by what we see every day in communities, and it’s grounded in more than 50 years of helping young adults secure housing, employment, and stability.

Stories like Riley’s — moving from unstable housing into the Transitional Living Program, reuniting with her siblings, and opening her first bank account — show what’s possible when young people finally have support they can count on.

Family Preservation & Strengthening

Families often face challenges that can feel overwhelming, from parenting stress to navigating complex systems. This year, Waypoint’s Community-Based Voluntary Services (CBVS) team celebrated four years of supporting families to improve communication, stabilize routines, and provide practical assistance when it mattered most.

CBVS recently supported a father and his 17-year-old daughter in improving communication through respectful strategies. The team also helped the father manage health appointments and, with flex funds, repaired their car — enabling the daughter to secure her first restaurant job.  Stories like these remind us that family preservation helps families find their own strength and maintain dignity, stability, and trust.

Early Childhood & Family Support

This year, Waypoint’s Early Childhood & Family Support team celebrated successes that reflect the power of early intervention and consistent support. A kinship caregiver stepped in for a one-year-old amid housing challenges and parental addiction. With guidance and support, the caregiver inspired both parents to enter recovery and actively parent their child. Meanwhile, “Peggy’s Playgarden” opened at the Stratham Family Resource Center, giving children a new space to explore and learn outdoors.

Health, Wellbeing & Independence

This year, Waypoint launched a Homecare Kindness Cupboard as we saw many of the older adults we work with struggling with rising costs. To date, the cupboard has supported 268 seniors. For older adults and clients with complex health needs, the right supports can make all the difference in maintaining independence at home. For example, an 81-year-old woman in Manchester was homebound and at high risk for institutionalization. Within 72 hours, Waypoint’s Homecare team provided nursing and PCSP services, helping her maintain independence while improving her physical and mental health. Similarly, our Health Care Coordination program supports families with children who have chronic health challenges — including helping one family purchase an adaptive E-bike, enabling them to ride over 300 miles together while raising funds for the American Cancer Society.

Turning Momentum into Impact

Whether delivering essential items, coordinating care, or creating opportunities for mobility and family connection, Waypoint’s programs help clients stay independent, age in place, and maintain dignity.

As we look ahead, Waypoint remains committed to building on the momentum of 2025, helping Granite Staters navigate challenges and celebrate milestones along the way.
