Rochester Youth Drop-in Center

Rochester Youth Drop-in Center

The Rochester Youth Drop-in Center helps young people ages 12-24 in Strafford County and east Rockingham County who are at-risk or experiencing housing instability. As a Regional Access Point (RAP), the Center consolidates access to vital systems and support services for young adults experiencing homelessness.

Roch2 sweatp - Jobs Staff

The Rochester Drop-in Center is a safe, non-judgmental space for young people in Strafford and eastern Rockingham counties to get help when they are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Young people will be met by dedicated and caring staff who get it! A young person can stop by for whatever level of care they want – from counseling and resource coordination, to a shower and a meal.

The Youth Drop-In Center also serves as a designated Regional Access Point (RAP). RAP is a single entry point to a range of systems and services for young adults experiencing homelessness. Our designated staff are trained to assess and connect young people to the larger homeless service system.

Waypoint Launches a First-in-the-Nation Program to Prevent Youth Homelessness

Sometimes all it takes is an unaffordable car repair or a high heating bill to start a spiral that results in homelessness. Our goal is to identify youth and families at risk and provide support to help them navigate these challenges and stay housed.

Opinion: Criminalizing homelessness is a heartless response to a complex issue

The Grants Pass decision does nothing to solve the problem of homelessness. Simply because an unhoused person has no option other than sleeping on a park bench or in a tent on a public sidewalk, they could now be issued citations with fines they cannot pay and may face a future that is forever hampered by a criminal record. When our society should be extending a helping hand, we are instead delivering a slap in the face.
