Parent Chat & Play

Caregivers, come and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while your children have fun in our large playroom with activity centers. As weather permits, we will go outside to play in the large playground with climbing structures, bikes, and a sand and water table. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Spanish Storytime

¡Hola! Hello! Our Spanish Storytime was created for all children ages birth-5 years and their grownups. Anahi’s group encourages early literacy skills through exposure to the Spanish language with engaging stories, songs, and fingerplays while stimulating imaginations and creativity! This is a great opportunity to meet other families and create connections within our community. You do not need to know Spanish to join us, everyone is welcome at Waypoint. This interactive group for children and parents/caregivers is designed to inspire a love of reading through songs, stories, and activities. Story and Craft Time – The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Join us for a story, craft, and snack! This month, we will be reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. This event is open to children ages 0-8 and their caregivers. Can’t make it? Positive Discipline Parenting Class

Positive Discipline:
-Helps children feel a sense of belonging and significance.
-Is effective long-term.
-Teaches valuable social and life skills for good character.
-Invites children to discover how capable they are and to
use their personal power in constructive ways.

This course begins Thursday April 3, 2025 and runs for 8 weeks, ending on May 22nd. The eighth week serves as a makeup and will only take place if needed. The group will meet every Thursday from 12:30-2:00 via Zoom. This is a VIRTUAL, Certificate Class Access to Video either by Phone or Computer Required

P.A.C.T Parents of Autistic Children Together: A Peer Support Group & Playgroup

A hybrid peer support group and playgroup gathering for parents and guardians of autistic children, or children suspected to be autistic, ages 0-5.

Each event will start with a playgroup and time for parents to freely connect with others. The group will split halfway through, with the adults switching to the learning session, engaging in the topic the presenter is sharing that day. The children will remain in playgroup supervised by our providers. Parents must register to attend to ensure we have enough staff for the playgroup. If you are joining the learning session virtually, you will be sent a Zoom link to the email you provided at registration. We look forward to you joining us!

PASTA (Parenting a Second Time Around) Group – Concord

PASTA is an ongoing support group for all kinship caregivers including grandparents and other caregivers in the position of raising a child or children 18 and under. This free support group is a great place to meet caregivers like yourself, learn new skills, and gather resources.
Topics of discussion can include child development, discipline and guidance, self-care, rebuilding a family, living with teens, legal issues, and advocacy. Childcare, provided by professionals at the YMCA, and dinner, provided by Waypoint, are both free.
